Carole Fiore is
working on a new book for Neal-Schuman with an anticipated publication date of 2008.
Bridging the Gap: Books
for Transitional Readers
will help school librarians/media specialists and public librarians identify those books that will help
students in second, third, and fourth grades make that important transition from a beginning reader to
being a successful, independent reader. The move from beginning reader books to chapter books is essential
to making children into lifelong readers. Tips on how to introduce these books to children and their
parents, teachers, and caregivers will be included.
Please share your ten (10) favorite books for transitional readers with Carole. Include full
bibliographic information for each book. If you have specific activities that you use with these books,
please include that information, too. If you know of web sites that work to encourage these transitional
readers to become lifelong readers, Carole would greatly appreciate knowing about these, too.
Please use our Contact page to send your message to Carole Fiore. Please include information on how
