Carole is the type of consultant you would like to invite back. She relates well to widely diverse constituencies and helps to build consensus among them.

Carole has a love for the written word that is completely infectious. You cannot hear her describe a book and not want to read it yourself. She makes the words come alive and the value of language become real. She is an asset to any program that is trying to find a way to engage young readers.

Carole has been my mentor as I have developed the Ready To Learn program here at a WFSU-TV the public broadcast station in the Big Bend area. When it comes to knowing who's who in the world of books, libraries and who is doing what in literacy Carole is the person to ask. We recently tapped into Carole's expertise in planning an early literacy symposium. She was a consultant as well as a presenter for the symposium. Her break-out session, Enticing Kids to Books and Reading won rave reviews from the childcare providers and teachers that attended.

When it comes to any question in the arena of literacy and education, Carole is the first person I call upon. She is a tremendous community resource.

It was great to work with Carole on our long range plan. Having never worked directly with a consultant before, she has eased my (and staff’s) anxieties about the process. She’s knowledgeable, competent, experienced, patient, encouraging, and a lot of fun. Her skills as a facilitator and writer are outstanding. She’s an idea person, but is practical as well. I’m glad she was available to work with us for this venture, and given to opportunity to do this again, I would choose her without reservation.

Carole's knowledge is extensive and extremely practical. She allows the class to have ownership in the workshop via class interaction and feed back as well as group projects which proved to be an extremely effective teaching style.

Our elementary and middle school media specialists were very pleased with the strategies and techniques Carole demonstrated and described in her workshop. She provided opportunities for hand-on experiences that they could take back to their school libraries and use immediately.

Carole is a leader in the nation in the area of youth services, keeping up with current trends and research. Her strength is also in facilitation and planning, and she has presented workshop throughout the country. I highly recommend her as a trainer and consultant.

My training in college was for secondary education, so Carole's workshop on emergent literacy was a wonderful opportunity. After participating in the workshop, I feel more confident now that I have the tools and materials for the appropriate age levels. This will help our staff and community to help kids prepare to read! I am so impressed with what I learned in such a short amount of time. This is the best youth services workshop I've attended in my 10 years of library work. I would recommend this to all library youth serving staff. I would attend anything presented by Carole.
